Overview
I've been able to enjoy a variety of parties and events in Seoul because I had friends who hosted and participated in them. However, when I was abroad, it was difficult to experience the local culture without any connections. While Korea's party scene has grown, it still remains somewhat exclusive, making it hard to join without knowing the right people. Perhaps one reason is the lack of a familiar concept like "night out" in Korean culture. Zuudo is both a guide and a community for those who want to explore and enjoy these experiences.

“A guide to a more exciting life providing solutions
for those who want to enjoy high-quality nightlife and be more social”

How I structured the whole process?
Research
We conducted a survey with 185 participants, including 12 multiple-choice and open-ended questions, to derive key insights.Additionally, we conducted in-depth interviews with 4 participants for deeper insights.

Many expressed difficulties in finding places that match their preferences, as mainstream locations often don’t satisfy them.
Empathize
We set two representative personas based on the collected user survey.
A is an office worker who occasionally enjoys stepping out of routine, while B is a foreign exchange student temporarily living in Korea.

Test
I completed a usability test in a high-fidelity state with four participants using a Rainbow Spreadsheet.
I identified three major functions, created user flows, assigned tasks to participants, and gathered feedback to refine the design by adding or removing pages.

Home > Event by date > Select a date > Select a event > View detail > Select participants/language > Enter purchase details > Review order detail > Enter payment details > Payment completed
Home > Search > Search by map > Set location > Choose filters > Result list > View detail
Home > Recommended content > List > View detail

Since events take place on fixed dates, there was no date selection option, and users found it inconvenient that other details like participant limits and guide language were not easily visible. To improve this, I added a date selection option for potential future flexibility and introduced a summary page where users can review and modify their selected options before making a purchase.

I added a 'Search by Map' feature, allowing users to find locations based on the map
V1 received more selections than V2, but feedback indicated that its contrast was not optimal. Taking this into account, we created V3, a blend of V1 and V2. (In reality, the final design went through more than 10 iterations of refinement.)

What I’ve learnt
For solid planning, I conducted competitor and market research, investing significant time to develop a logical approach. Through testing and participant feedback, I refined the project and realized the importance of research, especially when encountering unexpected responses.
